16-bit
The features of the MSP430 family make the product ideal for battery-powered measurement
applications.
Though the MSP430 is a 16-bit MCU, because of it’s modern compact design, it provides
solutions to many engineers across a wide variety of applications, primarily where 8-bit MCU’s
have been used before.
Utility Metering applications include gas, water, electricity, heat cost allocators, heat volume
counters, etc.
Portable Instrumentation applications include personal blood glucose meters, blood pressure
meters, heart rate monitor, thermometers, multi-meters, weight scales, portable accessories, etc.
Consumer applications include security systems, thermostats, smoke detectors, computer
peripherals, cell phone accessories, etc.
