TDC Ultra User’s Manual

Quick Start Guide for the TDC Ultra

1. Turn the TDC Ultra ON.

Once the start-up process is

complete, the main menu will

be displayed. Press DO while

Count is ﬂashing.

2. On the next screen, to start

a new count, press TAB until

New is ﬂashing then press the

DO key.

3. You are then given the option

of selecting the type of study

you want to do. The following

abbreviations are used:

TM = Standard Turning Movement

CL = Classiﬁcation DL = Signalized Intersection Delay

GAP = Multi-direction Gap SF = Saturation Flow Rate

SD= Stop Sign Delay SS = Spot Speed

RA = Roundabout TS = Time Stamped

TC = Enhanced Turning Movement

Press the TAB key until the study you want is highlighted, then press

the DO key.

4. Each of the studies that can be done with the TDC Ultra has its

own speciﬁc routine for setting it up and collecting the data. Refer

to Chapters 3 through 12 for more information on how to perform

each study.

5. Once you have ﬁnished your count, turn the TDC Ultra off and the

data will be stored internally.
